THE LEARNING PIRATE STORY
Ever since I was little I’ve had a powerful curiosity about the world. Always dreaming up adventures to unknown lands, the people I would meet and the treasures I would find. This is probably where my affinity for pirates started. Now, I’m neither a conventional pirate nor neuroscientist, but without my curiosity, the two wouldn’t have come together to form what you see today.
There are scientific facts and fundamental truths to how the brain learns. Now, as mentioned, I’m not a neuroscientist, but I do have certification in neuroscience, and it was just as I was completing my final course that Y’ARR came to life! I had the moment where everything that once seemed incredibly confusing and difficult, became inherent and free flowing.
It was the moment I knew I had confidence in everything I had learned, and was ready to put it to use, to help others achieve their learning goals. With one big piratey Y’ARR, I made the declaration to myself “You Are Really Ready!” and this is the goal and mission of Learning Pirate. To bring you, your teams, maybe your entire company, to your own Y’ARR moments, and I can’t wait to be part of your journey!
With 16 years experience in full cycle Learning and Development and 3 years with the application of Neuroscience, the view through my telescope keeps getting clearer. Now my mission is to transfer my learning to you! Whether you’re part of an L&D team, change strategist, or really want to engage your employees through learning, we can map that course together.
Brain based learning
Using the fundamentals of neuroscience and how the brain learns, we’re able to optimize the design and delivery of learning for the brain. There are so many wonderful ways to light up and create new experiences for the brain, and now we have the science to know how. Take your learning design from "Can't Remember" to "Won't Forget!"
Are you curious about the learning brain? Need some tips to help you enhance your learning design? Do you wonder how a multigenerational workforce can work and learn more cohesively with one another? I love creating unique experiences for your audience, full of surprises, fun, and great memorable learning. These aren’t your typical workshops, but you can be the judge of that!
